Teaching

I have been lucky to be involved in several workshops about active teaching and student-centered learning, mostly with the Center for Biodiversity at the American Museum of Natural History. I have been delivering teacher training workshops in a variety of settings in the USA and in Africa, and I love to incorporate active, student-centered teaching approaches in my classroom. I have developed BSc, Masters, and PhD courses and programs of study for biodiversity conservation and environmental studies in different institutions in USA and Africa, and I teach courses in ecology, research methods, conservation biology, community conservation, professional skills, and tropical ecology. I have led field study trips in Costa Rica, USA (Florida, Vermont, New Hampshire), and east and central Africa.
